Patient Details
47-year-old patient, 5'5" and 115 lbs, with a confirmed BRCA gene mutation, who elected to undergo bilateral prophylactic nipple-sparing mastectomies.
Stage 1 included immediate expander-based reconstruction at the time of mastectomy. Stage 2 involved exchange of tissue expanders for silicone gel-filled implants.
Due to asymmetries that developed postoperatively—including lateral displacement of the right implant—she was a candidate for Stage 3 autologous fat grafting to improve implant position, restore symmetry, and enhance final contour.
